SmishAlert Extension Isn’t Showing in the Messages App

If you don’t see SmishAlert inside the Messages app, here’s how to find and launch the extension based on your iOS version.

📱 For iOS 17 and Newer

🛠 Accessing the Extension

  1. Open the Messages app

  2. Tap the plus (+) icon next to the message text field

  3. Scroll down to see your available iMessage apps

  4. Tap SmishAlert to launch the extension

💡 If SmishAlert doesn’t appear in the list, scroll to the bottom and tap More to browse all installed extensions.


📱 For iOS 16 and Earlier

🛠 Accessing the Extension

  1. Open the Messages app

  2. Look for the horizontal app drawer above the keyboard

  3. Swipe right to left through the icons

  4. Tap the SmishAlert icon to open it

💡 If you don’t see it, scroll all the way to the right and tap the “More (•••)” button
Then tap Edit, toggle SmishAlert ON, and tap Done


🧼 Still Not Seeing It?

  • ✅ Make sure the SmishAlert app is fully installed

  • 🔁 Try restarting the Messages app or your iPhone

  • 🗑️ As a last resort, delete and reinstall SmishAlert from the App Store
