Why Was My Message Flagged as Clean?

If you submitted a suspicious message and SmishAlert flagged it as “Low Threat” or “No Known Threats Detected,” you might be wondering why.

🧠 What “Clean” Really Means

SmishAlert uses AI, threat databases, and pattern analysis to evaluate your message.

A “clean” result means:

  • No known phishing phrases were detected, especially those related to known smishing campaigns

  • No malicious or suspicious URLs were found

  • The message’s tone, formatting, and structure did not match common smishing patterns

In short, the message didn’t raise red flags based on what we know — right now.

🔍 It Doesn’t Mean It’s 100% Safe

While SmishAlert is designed to catch a wide range of threats, no system can guarantee 100% accuracy — especially with new or novel attacks.

So if you still feel something is off:

  • Trust your instincts

  • Don’t reply or click anything in the message

  • Save the alert and monitor for follow-ups

🔄 Can the Threat Status Change Later?

Yes — our system continuously evolves. Over time:

  • New patterns may be added

  • Threat databases may flag links that were previously unknown

  • Business plans can receive retrospective alerts if a message later becomes high-risk

If you're using SmishAlert for business, your security team may still be notified based on AI confidence scores, even if the message is marked “Low” in your view.
